Position Overview

A family seeks to fill a full-time Behavior Specialist position to support a young adult with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) living in Bryn Mawr, PA and Bensalem, PA.

This position will provide direct 1:1 support for a moderately-impaired 26 year-old adult male with occasional behavioral issues. This individual is responsible for working one on one with the client doing a variety of projects, work activities, self-help tasks, and recreational opportunities. The position is part of a four-person team that provides support seven days a week and is supervised by an onsite Lead Behavior Specialist. The shift works in both a structured ABA therapy day care program on Fridays in Bensalem, PA, and a home-based ABA setting on Saturdays and Sundays, located in Bryn Mawr, PA and Bensalem, PA. The Behavior Specialist will collect data, help prepare projects and materials, and strive to support the individualized needs of the client, including preparing meals and delivering medications. Additionally, the responsibilities involve identifying, planning and developing individualized programming for the client, using motivational systems and behavioral support procedures.

The Behavior Specialist position is a full-time position working 39 hours per week, Fridays, 10am until 10pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 10pm, and one hour for a weekday team meeting. There is also some potential for additional hours on other days for extra pay. This position also requires up to 12 overnights in the client’s home, per year, when the family is traveling. Aside from PA, this may include travel with the family to residences in MD and/or RI for overnights.

Qualifications:

The Behavior Specialist must be comfortable following established protocols, while also being flexible and passionate about working with adults with ASD. The candidate who most uniquely qualifies for this position will possess the following:

  • Clinical and applied experience working with adults on the autism spectrum preferred
  • No less than a bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • ABA experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with exceptional interpersonal skills, integrity, discernment, and judgment
  • Ability to work well with a team that includes parents and fellow professionals to provide consistency in supports
  • Must have valid PA Driver’s License, and ability to travel between settings
  • Must be able to pass a full background check, including PA State Police, FBI and child abuse clearances.

Compensation:

Very competitive salary based on years of experience plus attractive benefits package. BCBA supervision hours are available.

Pay:

Full Time $58,000.00 – $63,000.00 base compensation per year with bonus and benefits.
